My first online platform began in 2016 with a blog, ComfyGirlwithCurls.com.
I was a couple years into my natural hair journey (learning to accept, love, and care for my natural hair texture), and because I loved writing, I thought it would be fun to document the journey.
As time continued, this platform expanded to share my skincare journey, my exploration with fashion, and highlight more aspects of my life.
It allowed me to shine a light on small businesses, and start working with globally-recognized brands.
While my blog is still running under its existing name, as its own entity, my social media platforms were rebranded to @KayaMarriott in 2024.

The corner of the internet where I share advice for fellow creators, and pull back the curtain on the realities of this incredible yet weird career path.
Documenting my journey has always been at the heart of my content, and for many years I shared advice for fellow content creators on ComfyGirlWithCurls.com.
But after an income transparency video blew up on TikTok, I was hit with a wave of new followers that threatened to split my existing audience.
So CreatingWithKaya.com and its adjacent social media platforms was born.
